American Hustle beats WOW for best comedy at Golden Globes

I still can't believe this movie is considered a comedy.

there isnt one joke in the movie except when she burns the microwave... shyt was to trash to put in the drama category so they threw it into comedy.

I didn't even laugh at that. It made me hate JL's character even more.

Just use your common sense, hell the movie towards the end gives you some reality when he wrecked the vehicle. He was so high, he thought he was ok and he was abusing hallucinogenics, so for the most part he's relying on other peoples accounts who were also high to piece things together. I Know "based on a true story" allows for Hollywood to take whatever liberties they must for pacing and driving the story, but that shyt was animal house level shyt in a work space.

He was so high, he thought he was ok and he was abusing hallucinogenics, so for the most part he's relying on other peoples accounts who were also high to piece things together. Could he or the script writer might have embellished on a few things? Of course. But for the most part everything is true and has actual records to back it up. We went over it in the WoW thread.

The business deals are true because it's a matter of record, but the other antics are not. I don't believe them for one minute.

To be fair, Danny Porush (who Hill's character is based on), has essentially said most of what happens in those scenes is accurate. Or at least a close approximation. Like, he really did eat a live goldfish...and they really did hire midgets (though never threw them lol). The FBI agent has also confirmed that the majority of Belfort's memoirs about the insanity of that office is true.
