The United States won Olympic gold at Tokyo 2020, but they failed to finish the tournament undefeated after losing their group-stage game against France, which means that none of the current crop of players can come close to Jason Kidd's record with Team USA.

The defeat to France, who the USA then went on to beat in the final to win gold, was their first at an Olympic Games since Athens 2004, when they lost three games - against Puerto Rico, Lithuania and Argentina.

Since 1992, when the USA began to bring its NBA stars, the United States have largely dominated FIBA's international competitions: the Olympic Games, World Cup, FIBA Americas tournament and Pan American Games.

Their record up to the 2001 Indianapolis World Cup was unassailable: 58 wins and zero losses. However, it was there that Paul Pierce, Reggie Miller, Michael Finley and co lost to Argentina (87-80) and Spain (81-75).

Then, they suffered three other major setbacks, such as the aforementioned at the 2004 Athens Games, the 2006 World Cup in Japan and the 2019 World Cup in China. But until then, their dominance was unquestionable. That is why not many NBA stars have never lost whilst playing for the US national team.

According to a list published by Hoopshype.com, only a handful of American players can boast being undefeated with their national team, and only 11 of them with at least 15 victories counting Olympic Games, World Cup, FIBA Americas tournament and Pan American Games.

And the player with the most impressive record with the so-called Dream Team is the legendary point guard Jason Kidd, who has an incredible 46-0 record with the USA.

His achievements include the 2000 and 2008 Olympic Games and three FIBA Americas tournaments (1999, 2003 and 2007). He finished all of them undefeated.

Hot on his heels is Michael Jordan (30-0), undefeated in the tournaments he played for the United States: two Olympic Games (1984 and 1992), one FIBA Americas tournament (1992) and one Pan American Games (1983).

One could say “where there Gasols, Dirk, Ginnianis, Luca, Parker’s, Ginoblis back then”. But 04 team got washed by Lithuania and… Puerto Rico. These places have like less citizens than Brooklyn :mjlol: but the Lithuanians used to play like they’ve been playing together their whole life

Marbury, Iverson and them had too much gas in their head.

But when did Kobe and them lose?
