Assuming we believe in the notion that males are generally better problem solvers, and females the nurturers, is it beyond reason that a woman whose spent all day dealing with shyt at work is exhausted and just wants to watch some mindless shyt to de-stress at the end of the day? Especially if she's gotta get back up and do it all over again the next day?

It's rough out there, and folks will cope in whatever fashion they feel most comfortable with. Naturally some will be able to better manage by ensuring they eat healthy, find pockets of time to get a workout in, etc. and others can't be bothered.

The problem is, if she's doing that then she isn't doing any nurturing, for herself or anybody else.
