I mean alot of people live beyond their means tho. Living in LA, driving a BMW, rocking Gucci Belts all while working a mid level job. It's not all about the cost of living but that's a huge reason too.The cost of living keeps going up and wages remain stagnant. Yet they wanna tell us we aren't saving enough

People just can't save. My girl gets paid weekly and got a $1600 commission checc from her job and it was all gone in a few days

In 1993, I was a production assistant, made $23000/yr had a 2 bedroom apt paid 500/month had a basic car 5000 of student loan debt

It's no surprise the average American is vain as badly written characters. This will never change as America is a debt and consumerist culture it's all about "Mortage Mortage" yet average Americans can barely pay the home insurance, if it's not a house then it's a loan(Personal Bank) or another alternative to buy some Cadillac Escalade 2018 model to look cool and up to date with peers who also live an equivalent destructive lifestyle. In conclusion, the average American is financially illiterate.
