If a person has no cell phone, then they get one, of course that money has to come from somewhere. It's called opportunity cost.

Phones in this country are tethered to contracts and upgrades, think about that logically, people cut back so that they can BUY the next new phone initially and then pay the monthly moving forward.

I'm far from the typical American and have never followed a trend in my life but I defend truth regardless of the point. Do I think most Americans are retarded? Yes. Do I think most Americans spend money foolishly? More than you I'm sure. But there is no need to stretch the truth to understand that. Nor is there need to read any article to understand that.
