As an employer i will be honest.

Hard work is appreciated. It makes us see you as reliable.

The problem with being reliable is you don't always want to lose that reliability. its a double edged sword.

They person you know you can count on to keep your payables current and organized will be lost to you if you promote them to asst controller. And have someone less reliable take their place. At least for smaller corporations this is the case. For places that have no lack of talent recruitment pools, you can most certainly climb the ranks fast from hard work.

Example being the hardest working player on a team like Ohio State is gonna see fruit of his labor.
But the hardest working librarian, is just going to have excellent job security, and nothing else. You not gonna eventually be made head librarian of the library of congress simply for being the hardest working Librarian ever, somebody with connections will be appointed that job.
Being reliable only to your current company is an L

In today's current job market, your skills have to be transferable, so if your job is on some bullshyt you can tell them to kiss your ass and dip

Hopefully we build something new when this clown is no longer running the show.
My hope:

Progressive Dems get elected who aren't backed by corps

Ppl are so pissed off that they got to do something, and that something is going hard on corporations and passing a bunch of new reforms

They should tell the Supreme Court to kill themselves and pass student loan relief, corporations can't own and rent houses, better minimum wages, etc

Probably not gonna happen but I want the general public to be on their neck

Smack anyone who brings up but but but the dems care about trans issues

Thats really the only way to climb the ladder is to job hop until you get to level you want.
There is less turnover the higher you go so less opportunity for advancement the higher you go with the same company.

Thats the only reason I didnt get a job at the plant

My cousins could have probably got me in

Im wondering if I would have been better off because they got those big ass profit shares but I guess that's over now

It’s hard to believe once upon a time you could raise a family and buy a house by oworking at a factory.

Like what’s was the crisis in those days?
What did people worry about

You still can. Especially in the Midwest.

The rich don’t give a fukk about anyone but their gains. That’s why everyone’s eating the rich now. If you ever struggled you wouldn’t relate to these cocksuckers.

Where The Grass Is Blue
I was just thinking about this earlier today. It's crazy, a mf supposed to just be happy about being in a rat race making other mfs rich? I be looking at my co-workers who been here for 20 plus...coming to work just looking defeated. Nowadays if you not working yourself to death or doing crime you're just stuck being a cog in the system until you die :francis:

Perfectly said and highlights how the world really works vs. how people want it to be.

I’ve always been merit/performance driven and even I know it’s counter intuitive beyond security and ego after a certain point

No one is eating the rich tho. That's why people are mad in the first place

"Eat the rich" has always been a performative unserious phrase
