~900,000 population according to Chicago, Illinois Population 2016, 2015

That rate would put it on par with Baltimore. I think citing Chicago homicides in terms of murder rate can be a bit deceptive as the majority of homicides happen in black neighborhoods.

Yep. There are neighborhoods in the Chi that are the size of small cities with murder rates over 100 per 100,000 :damn:

On another note, im not surprised midwest is deep af on this list despite having the least population. the region has the most broken cities in the country :wow:

There are plenty of poor towns in small town USA with very small homicide rates. We have a street culture issue across many cities

I hate when people use the whole poor argument they don't get how much poor that gives to police to do bullshyt.
You saying that poor area are more violent so why would cops not be more couscous and police those area different than the rich ones that are suppose to be safer.

New Orleans/VA/Nashville
4. New Orleans, Louisiana
> Murder rate:
41.7 per 100,000
> No. of murders: 164
> Violent crime rate: 949.6 per 100,000
> Population: 393,447

Poverty can often be an accurate measure in predicting violence, and in New Orleans, 27.7% of the population lives below the poverty line — one of the largest shares of any city in the country.

Gun violence in particular is a major problem across the state. Louisiana has the second highest gun fatality rate in the country. In New Orleans specifically, while the number of homicides in 2015 is up 9.3% from 2014, the longer term trend reveals a considerable decrease in murder in the city. Over five years, the number of murders in the city has declined by 18.0%, and are now nowhere near the quarter century high of 424 murders in 1994.
:snoop:

Gun violence in this country is retarded

These lists don't really mean shyt outside of shock value. Giving an entire city a murder rate is dumb as hell when in reality the violence is almost always isolated in certain areas, while there's other areas where no one has been murdered in years.

That's why It irks me when people talk about hesitation traveling or moving to a city because of violence, are you really traveling / moving to that city's worse area(s) fukking moron :what:

Then majority of murders committed are on some back and forth retaliatory shyt so basically the point is a random person has a very low chance of getting involved in some bullshyt unless they were looking for it regardless of where you at.
