nikkas are really giving him grief for resting on defense?

On the ball, Kobe can still guard anyone in the league. Ya'll saw him lock up Kyrie Irving and Brandon Jennings earlier this year when he was told to guard opposing PGs. So what if he's resting on defense right now. He's earned the right.

Has anyone EVER played the number of minutes Kobe has and still been required to produce as much as he does on offense? I know he's the GOAT but he ain't superhuman. He's obviously resting off the ball when he's playing defense. His teammates need to pick up the slack either offensively or defensively for him.

KG is 3 years older then KB and PP is 2 years older then KB, theres a age disparity. See kobe wouldn't get criticized for his defense if he tried and got lit up, nash tries and gets lit up but nobody says anything bc he's trying to the best of his abilities. He's earned the right. 17 years in, its the responsibility of the other guys to step it up on defense if they expect a 34 year old man to carry them on offense. You can't expect Kobe to be playmaker, leading scorer, and elite defender every night. He ain't 24 anymore.

I'll give you MWP...I was kinda reaching on that but they don't switch anything up. They are still getting beat by:
-guard penetrating to the free throw line and lobbing it to the small/power forward. why is Dwight still drifting, he didn't do that in Orlando
-Off the ball back door screens/pin downs wide open threes for wing players with the pg still above the three point line (meaning the defense isn't even collapsed)....HOW?
-Pick and roll Mike has coached the pick and roll forever and he doesn't know not to send your center/pf above the three point line to defend
-Kobe hasn't been bad 1on1, he gets beat here and there but everybody does. His effort off the ball is atrocious

goat? Get your delusional ass outta here. He didn't shut down irving. Irving still had 15+ points on 46%+. Jennings is a 40% shooter so not much of a accomplishment keeping him to his season average. And he isn't just "resting" this entire season he has given 0 effort. He's ignoring his defensive responsibilities and not respecting his opponents and he's constantly getting lit up. He's acting as if defense doesn't exist in the nba

Nah it's perfectly understandable for him to suck on defense. He has been falling off on defense for years. The problem is Kobestans don't want to accept the fact that he is basically worthless on defense. Not only that, they still want to call him an elite defender
