You make no sense.

Analytic nerds never had a problem with guys like CP3, Booker, Durant, Steph, Kyrie, Kawhi etc from taking midrange shots. These guys can get to that 50% threshold from 10-16 feet.

50% from 2 = 33.3% from 3

It's the role players in the league like the PJ tuckers of the world. What he shoots from 3 is what he's going to shoot from mid range just about. He'll be a low 30% guy. He has 0 chance of getting to 50% from 3.

You need to be proficient from all areas. That's what these stat geeks don't understand.

In crunch time they might be guarding the hole heavy or guarding the perimeter heavy but, you might be able to carve through the defense and get a 12 footer in.

Do that 2-3 times in the closing minutes of the 4th and you change the momentum of the game. But nah, ignore common sense. Keep jacking up threes.

Funny thing is even the elite midrange players use analytics to their benefit which is why that dumbass long 2 shot has pretty much been eradicated from everyone's game.
I wish someone would tell John Wall about those long two’s:francis:

Phoenix Suns in the playoffs:

33.3 attempts from three (12.6 makes per game) = 38 points per game
13.4 attempts from midrange (5.9 makes per game) = 12 points per game.

I wouldn't expect OP to acknowledge this considering he's the same muh'fukka who said Kyle Kuzma is a HOF player, Rondo will lead the Clippers to a title this season, Kemba is a better player than Kyrie, Steph isn't better than Isaiah Thomas (not Zeke, but the one who broke his hip).

:unimpressed:

:dead:

@UpAndComing if this is true you know you wild for that

Analytics dudes don’t hate midrange shots as much as you dusty ‘90s nikkas claim :flabbynsick:

false

Y'all are idiots. Absolutely no one discourages one of the GOAT midrange shooters to not take the shot. :dead:

yes the hell they do

I wonder if Coli ever read what analytics people say? :jbhmm:

they say the mid range is bad

I hope Phoenix wins and shuts them up for good. Their lord and savior Luka didn’t win MVP after they already proclaimed him as the greatest player of all time before the season started.

Analytics say the mid range has a value, if its Kawhi taking the shot. Its a tremendous shot but if its John Wall or Anthony Edwards. It's a terrible shot
