Would be cool if Afrocentric weaves gained more popularity over Eurocentric ones these days.

They already have. Just not with famous chicks. Alot of the natural hair chicks are, at times, natural in texture only. Y'all have to understand 3 things:

1. There was time not long ago you couldn't get your hands on natural texture weaves.

2. There was a time not long ago Black women were oppressed for wearing their natural textures... by employers, peers, and even Black men.

3. There was a time not long ago Black women didn't even know how to take care of their natural texture. Not saying we weren't hygienic but washing and conditioning and basic care for our textures in a way that encourages growth and health is very different than other textures.

Times are changing.

This is no different that Roman women loving them some Germanic or Indian hair weaves and wigs.

These Egyptian women styled their weaves to fit their own culture as well: braids.

It's the same thing.

Where's this self-hate ?
