My crew has never seen Mayweather money, but I've been in groups where the tab is at least a $1,000 for a meal.
That has no bearing on whether I tip the waitress at all.
If you look at his tab, everything he ordered was stock. Meaning, all she had to do is write it down and bring it back.
Ordering wings and sealed bottles of alcohol requires no input from her at all. In fact, they could have sent someone to the bar to place the order and skipped her entirely.
If I order a cheeseburger, just bring me my burger. Thats your job.
If I order an omlette and decide I want a long list of vegitables, the eggs cooked a peculiar way, some odd mixed drink, or you alert me to a better food option or save me some money, or bring me something complementary then you deserve a tip.
I used to work at a game store before doing music, and most of the time people would bring up a game and I'd ring it up for them. I might even suggest something better or answer their questions, but that I didn't expect a tip. However I would sometimes get tips, if someone asked for a product on display and I'd tell them there is a superior or lower priced one in the back stockroom, cause now I am going beyond my duty. Or if I decide to drag out a huge metal ladder to show them a product that really is just for display on a overhead counter, or if I tell them that game is dogshyt, save your money (which could have gotten me fired). So, she should have stepped her game up. If she had done anything memorable someone would have tipped her before the meal was even over, they were holding cash through the durration.
