And for those who don't know, here are the creators of reggaetón:

Hispanic culture is based off of blacks.

Don't let these spicy fukking cacs tell you otherwise.

Their existence would be cac 2.0 without blacks

The only thing they're famous for is large families..

Beyond that, their contribution to the arts and sciences is non existent.

And Black people are down so bad these latino hacks and louts had the gall to claim they had a hand in hiphop :scust:

It was a combo of El General and Steely and Cleevie. Steely and clevie created the pocoman jam riddim that Dem Bow by Shabba was on. Reggaeton is a variation of that og riddim, hence them coming for the biggest reggaeton song ever.

Panamanian's LOVE that 80s dancehall. I visited and they were like :blessed::blessed::blessed::blessed::blessed:

All these dudes and their families should set for life. They ssmple that beat on practically every song

dude fell into white latina p*ssy and now hes Dominican and just talks down on Black Americans. Telling us we shouldnt expect them to understand us but we should go out of the way to understand them because "Latinidad"

This is why outsiders should be careful to speak on other groups histories. You parroted an intercultural joke (one that doesn’t include you) between Panamanians and Jamaicans which in this context is just historically wrong.

:dead: If it’s a Spanish speaking country black people were brought there first. In the case of Jamaica (used to be a spanish colony) Africans were brought there around the same time as Africans were transported in Panama. But what you’re referring to is late 1800’s migration of Jamaicans, Trinidadians and other English speaking West Indians to Panama. And guess what “no they aren’t just Jamaicans who speak Spanish”

Moreover you would know if Panamanians were upset at Puerto Ricans if you actually listened and followed the music. But you don’t and that’s apparent.

Your last point is weird because it’s just whatever country’s sound music. Again that is Black American racial politics inserted into a space that doesn’t call for it.

What does African influence, Latin American influence even mean to groups that live it everyday?

@TheKongoEmpire has me blocked :dead: :pachaha: On a message board? I would never admit to someone having me that pressed over text
El General and Sech are both west indian and from rio abajo the neighborhood where reggaeton was created. Sech's last name is williams. While you are correct that not all black central americans are carribbean with the descendants of the spanish slave trade. A lot of the time if they have a english last name it's likely

You mean strong affiliation:mjgrin:

Black Panamanians are basically Jamaicans who happen to speak spanish; and yes, I clearly remember Jamaicans being mad as sh1t years ago about Latin American Reggaeton acts jacking their steeze (I'm pretty sure you can find many threads on this board with Jamaicans complaining about it). Plus, who says Panamanians have never voiced displeasure about Reggaeton being associated with Ricans?

rest here Panamanian Artists Helped Birth Reggaeton, Then the Industry Left Them Behind

:childplease: that sh1t has no impact on me but I do find it weird a music w/ no actual Latin American influences outside the language is being marketed as Latin Music.:pachaha:
There were blacks in panama long before the canal & railways were built.

There were but those aren't the ones that birthed Spanish Dancehall; it was the ones of direct Jamaican ancestry that also came to speak Spanish that laid the foundation.
See my grandmothers parents were Jamaicans that immigrated to panama to work on the banana plantations. My grandma grew up speaking both Patois & Spanish

My grandfather was black Panamanian also but his people traced back to slaves brought to panama to work the mines and sugar cane fields
