Even if he learns the game eventually and fixes that monstrosity of a jumper, is something like 14 ppg 7apg 6rpg with mediocre shooting percentages and average defense (and I'm being generous with his ceiling here) really worth the #2 pick in a stacked draft?

if he's already getting 7 dimes and 7 boards a game now why would you think his ceiling would be 7apg and 6rpg? He can clearly be a 10+ assists per game guy and probably 6-8 boards easy. And if the Lakers get the Max FA's they're gunning for and if BI/Kuzma work out, having a PG like Zo (if he finds his shot) is worth it. As bad as his shot has been any Laker fan can tell you the ball movement has been way better this year. The Lakers didnt draft him to be a 20ppg scorer or the #2 option on offense.
