That's b.s I got a boxer/hound/pit bull breed and he's been around my daughter since the 1st day she got home from the hospital. We prepared it like when my daughter was still in the hospital we would bring her blankets so he can know her smell, even when she was in the belly he would sniff at it

She's 2 now and she can't stand him she always tells him to move and smacks his head away but he's super over protective of her. My wifes sister brang her Labrador's and one of them scratched my daughter with his paw purposefully,..man I never seen my dog react so quick he put his jaw around its neck without biting and cornered him growling and barking. Whenever she sleeps he'll lay down on the floor by her bed until she wakes up...he's basically her bodyguard and I know for a fact he would never hurt her.

Its all about how you raise that dog and he was raised with a lot of love and his big ass still gets it

Dogs are unpredictable. You don't know for a fact

Dog lovers will always defend their dogs as being loving and peaceful.

But the risk is something to consider.
If you can't handle a dog that can potentially cause major damage, you should reconsider having that dog.

Worst case scenario should be thought about. That's all I'm saying.

Every pit ive met was the nicest dog ever. I even knew a couple well trained female pits that were shy and scared of me... The cutest thing ever

I had a dog once, but he was the friendliest dog one could imagine. What I don't understand is why some people feel the need to have dogs that are aggressive to pretty much everyone other than the owners. My neighbor had a dog that ran up on me, but I learned a while back that you shouldn't run so I stood there and it just charged and stop before the owner called him back. To deter him from messing with me or my younger family members, I always had the ammonia on deck though .:whew:

That's what I'm saying too. People keep going on and on about pits being protective of thier family but what about the neighbors? I couldn't even have cookouts at my old place because the Rottweiler next door wanted to square up with everyone in my backyard like it was HIS property! :birdman:

Had everybody at my place like

:sadcam::mjcry::merchant::sadbron::whoa::damn:

And of course the owner would just be like "don't worry he's actually a big softy"

:yeshrug:

These dogs are demonic to outsiders :demonic:

I am curious, has anyone of you making generalized anti-American Staffordshire Terrier statements actually read up on the breed? Have you researched their temperament, their human aggression vs animal aggression, their history as America's dog before they were maligned? Have you examined a large body of research concerning this specific dog breed? Or are you basing your Opinions (which are stated as fact, when they are incorrect) on outliers. What dog bites the most people per year in America? It is not the American Staffordshire Terrier.
That's like pointing out that there are more housecat attacks that pum attacks. Who's bite is more dangerous??? I am sure that more Chihuahuas bite more people than pitbulls, but pitbulls can and do kill when they attack. They have one of the strongest bites in the animal kingdom.

Down South where Im from

no one believes that Pit Bulls can be a softy shyt if trained right:ehh:

--you can train them to be loyal and safe with the owner and the people who are around the owner and dog on a regular basis

but no way in hell would the owner act like the dog is trained to the point of being safe around strangers

thats why when strangers come around the dogs are always secured

---- my cousin owned a pit and he was cool as hell, till one day he snapped:wow:

my pops had to blow his ass away-
that mafukka went after everyone
even attacked a grown cow----

certain dogs have an nature that is part of their DNA

- just like Chows are not great to have around kids
for some reason no matter how gentle they can be to everyone else
kids just dont sit right with them

we had 7 chows and they were the sweetest but kids just set them off

-where im from
fukk around and let your dog go at someone
and that dog would get blown the fukk up
and the owner would get stomped half to death

And German Shepards are one of the best breeds around kids.

If you raise them right. They are extremely loyal and tolerant if trained.

This is the thing- people assume dogs behavior from articles, stuff people have told them, etc. Like everything else in the world, I hope you don't believe everything that you read online or word of mouth.
I owned a German Shepard and from my experience they are one of the best breeds for a family. They get along just fine around children and are fiercely protective of their owners. Not to mention smart as hell.
I almost had to blast a pit bull and the owner for his dogs managing to wander in my backyard (they dug under my fence for entry)to his neglect of keeping it tied up and terrorizing my kids who were trying to play on their property. Called the police several times on him trying not to get ghetto with this fool and go to jail but I was always shooting a warning shot at his dogs to spare them.
Best believe I'd have killed it had it charged me or my family and was ready for the owner to catch them hollowpoints.
I hate that breed of dog.:birdman:

My cousins had a pitbull, and that thing tore apart this little Chihuahua that lived in their neighborhood. Her name was Iiesha, and she was vicious as fukk!! Can't believe their are some people who let those things sleep in their house, and around their kids. Like, how do you sleep with something like that walking around?
