Hurdles better than Oxnard. And Oxnard wasn't bad just not up to par with Paak's stuff but literally the songs that Dre touched were the worst songs off it. Problem with Oxnard to me was it wasn't funky enough.

Been in a bit of a music drought, so I'm gonna sit with this for a while.

Wow this is a great album, hes back on his soulful shyt for a full meal.

I appreciated Oxnard and still play it weekly, but this is on a other level.

I saw the video where he told Dre he wanted to make two albums, with two characters.

Its dope that Dre let Paak pursue his own musical vision. Paak had a lot to do with the musical production on this too.

I enjoyed King James A LOT more when listening to the album. The cohesiveness was beautiful.

if you have been followin anyone over the past few months ..there whole crew has been in the studio with dre ,

some of yall just wanna hate on dre so much to validate your argument smh , no one arguin that paak maybe had more creative freedom on this

but to say dre didnt play a part on when made the project what didnt , how things would be pushed is ludacris,

paak aint signed to interscope he signed to dre , dre bankrollin everythin if he wasnt happy wit anythin the way it is or sounds or was flowin he aint signin off on it

To be fair, Dre is still listed as an "exec producer" for Kendrick too and has had no involvement in his recent albums. They played him TPAB when it was done, probably did the same with DAMN.

Not saying that Dre isn't involved in this album but you can definitely hear a looser sound here, vs the very orchestrated and controlled sound of the last album. Dre's shyt sounds "perfect" to the point it sounds bloodless usually.
