Jimi Hendrix estate is crazy. They wouldnt let them use the lyrics to his songs in Guitar Hero, only the music.

Jimi, and later, his eventual estate was screwed out of a lot of royalties. There's family infighting over control too, so they're basically trying to get as much cash as possible for everything they attach his name to at this point to make up for the past and to cash the fattest checks possible per deal.

Sucks, but it is what it is at this point.

I've been hearing a couple of things that make this project kind of iffy....

1. It's not officially sanctioned by Jimi's estate which if true, means....

2. They won't even be able to use any of his music in the movie.

You can't do a movie about a musician and not use their music. I hope this isn't true because if so, I can see this turning into that sh!tty VH1 MJ biopic starring Flex Alexander that never shoulda been made.

they already did a jimi biobic without using his music. it stared wood harris as jimi. he did alright but it was still kinda lame.

this one is gonna get the music, dont worry about that. my thing is whether or not andre can get the jimi voice right, cause if he just sound like andre its gonna be a problem.

3thou about'a enter the next level; to solidify himself as one of the most talented black men of all time. After years of hearsay and pushbacks, the biopic is finally going through - Possum Aloisious Jenkins gonna deliver a Oscar-worthy performance. You know 3stacks locked himself in a dungeon to prepare for this role.

I think the music thing gets worked out ultimately. I don't know if Andre has the chops to pull this off, in the couple of roles he's been in he's been good, but I would've preferred to see a better actor like Cid Kudi for the role, plus he and Jimi have that sorta drugged out inner misery thing down pat. But I hope the movie is a success.
