Andre Drummond, the next big thing - The Washington Post
AndreDrummond1.jpg

As a freshman at the University of Connecticut, Andre Drummond averaged just 10 points, 7.6 rebounds before making the leap to the NBA as the 9th overall pick in the 2012 Draft. Now, after two seasons, the Big Penguin is on a trajectory to be one of the NBA greats.

Yes, I said one of the NBA greats.

Drummond led the league in offensive rebounds (440) for the Pistons this season, 99 more than second-best DeAndre Jordan of the Los Angles Clippers. Over 75 percent of his successful field goals were either dunks or layups, giving him the second best effective shooting percentage in the league (62.3 percent), an improvement over his rookie season (60.8 percent).

Jared Dubin did some search acrobaticsand found that until two years ago Hall of Famer Bob McAdoo was the only player in league history to average at least 13 points, 13 rebounds, 1.5 blocks and 1.0 steals in either his rookie or sophomore season.Drummond now joins him on that list.

Among the eleven players in the 3-point era who amassed over 3,000 minutes and 1,000 points in the first two seasons before their 21st birthday, only Lebron James (19.4), Anthony Davis (16.5) and Dwight Howard (15.9) have generated more win shares than Drummond (14.4) over that span. The ones with less: Chris Bosh, Kevin Garnett, Troy Parker, Carmelo Anthony, Shaquille O’Neal, Kevin Durant and Thaddeus Young.

The next big thing has already arrived in Anthony Davis. Andre Drummond is the Kyrie Irving of big men he puts up decent numbers, does an incredible dunk/block here and there but he's not a difference maker. His defense is over rated and half the times he looks lost out there. I would take a guy like Big Cuz over him ten times over.

Me, @Malta, and a few others have already came to this conclusion that Big Drum (Big Penguin?:scusthov:) can be the best Center in the NBA if he keeps improving over the upcoming years....plus when his PG starts giving him the ball more.

PER King, nothing more nothing less at this stage

Can't defend the Rim, gets into foul trouble, No offensive moves.

A better rebounding Tyson Chandler at this point.

Exactly man Dre is just big at this point he has no skill set and his defense is mad overrated. A guy like Anthony Davis can change a game by his defense alone and his mid range jumper is wet and Big Cuz has one of the best low post games in the league and just needs to get his head straight.

Yall don't watch Duke play. He can keep improving and has the skill set Dwight has with already better footwork. He's showing flashes of a future post game and thrives off garbage points which means he is essentially not going to get lower then 12 points no matter what. Once he learns to post up and continues to be aggressive add 6 easy buckets. Free throws at best could be high 603 mid 709 and dude is giving u around 17-20 if he works harder. You got sheed instilling a mean streak in him, he already got chastised by Hibbert claiming dre plays like he's tough, talking shyt and bullying nikkas in the post.

And of course davis is ahead he is a freak of nature. But dre got next as long as he keeps improving. This nikka was a potential five year project and in 2 years he posted better numbers in the east then a semi max contract playoff absent Hibbert does

Dude looks lazy as well.
If he had the heart of shabazz Napier or kemba :noah:
Far from lazy. People claiming he was lazy j's how he dropped and he could have stole rookie of the year if he didn't get hurt and they played him more last year. Dude essentially was a double double every game when he got enough minutes.
