Here's a few

Learning pertinent people skills....
How to sell
How to network
How to talk to people

Also how to be willing to work...sometimes for years with no immediate payoff. This is the one that stops a lot of people
Many times, they arent in spaces that create a payoff.

Ive had a real eye opening experience coming home to a black woman in the c-suite everyday. Ive learned that she is super exceptional and 99.99% of the world arent built like her. Making it out of Brownsville, going to the country’s best prep school through a special program. parents who were fortunate enough to know the school system (one was a teacher) to guide her in the right direction. SHE CAN EASILY be caught up into herself, but she knows her success is not a life story that Is not one someone can simply replicate like idiots in here who mention Karl Kani. She didnt come out of a forged and steady system. The system wasnt built for her to succeed, so along with being fortunate and not being built like garden variety person individual. she gives forward, hiring black, and creating an easier path for those behind her.

My wife cant tell folks “just do what I did!!” :mjlol:

I swear, dunderheads like @G.O.A.T Squad Spokesman REALLY dont get it

It doesn't work for everybody. As someone who has spent years in the financial industry working with small business owners the bolded is very true.

One of the first things that I tried to make sure people understood: "Banks loan to, not invest in your business." Why would you loan money to someone who isn't even generating money to have the capacity to pay it back? Too many businesses refuse to scale down because they have grand dreams that they just KNOW will work. People usually need funding to grow, not to start and that's where most people just give up.

88% of the cats who post on here are morons and the number goes up every day :wow:

I'm curious how many posters on here actually have a full time job. Also a social life.

Breh anyone that says anyone can be successful is wrong.
A lot of things have to go right for you to break through.
Ofcourse having the right parents and connections help.

BUT

There are people who have become successful despite not having those things.

I think that's all cats are saying in here.

I'm a glass half full kinda person

I choose to concentrate on what can go right instead of what can go wrong.

Helps? This is the point that kills me. Where you dudes downplay things to simple help. Its sole lifeline to success along with chance. It was more than help. It was a teacher who in a chance meeting with her told her to apply to the ABC program that got her into that prep school She doesnt meet that teacher, her life is completely different.

HELP?

niqqa....that shyt was chance.

My son doesnt need that teacher. His future is secure being fortunate to being a part of the 1%. HIs shyt is mapped out. She and I? It wasnt. I won the genetic lottery to go to OU, she lucked out meeting a teacher one summer.

No. They were lucky. Tons of folks work harder than them and wont see their success.

fukk your mindset. Bad enough you are weaponizing some black success anomalies to attack the poor.

You know nothing. You have zero experiences in it, and if you did, you likely are the type who forget how fortunate and lucky he is to be in the position he is. Im thankful everyday for winning the genetic lottery that got me to play where I did and receive my education. Im thankful for Ms. Humphrey walking my mom and I into the principals office to get me into my HS my senior year which changed the entire trajectory of the life I currently live.

You dont know shyt.

Right, the 2% of the 2%, and if you look at their stories, even they have privileges. Karl Kani learned the business through his father. That's a privilege a lot of folks don't get.

Let me make it clear I am not agreeing 100 with Spokesman, but most people don't do half the work to be successful. It's not easy to make it. It takes focus and lots of sacrifices. The sacrifices we make may decide our future. Daymond did not get lucky. He made a plan, stuck to it, and took 1 step everyday towards building that plan.

If anybody spends 1 hr of their time into achieving their life goal, they are more likely to succeed.

We all have excuses bro. Trust me on that. I have mine.

As long as we know what our distractions are and we work to eradicate them, we are doing more than 95% of people who are SM addicts and rather watch Kardashians or Love and Hip Hop.

I had 2 assistants with iphone XR. My phone costs only 150$. They afford the phone because they make it part of their plan to have it, even if they make way less and always sharing their lunch, while complaining about being broke.

You fail to realize this point.

If she didn't meet your teacher, she would have met somebody else or made something bigger or just as significant for herself. I know somebody who turned down law school for free. He is now an engineer. Your son can have all this structure and map, as you call it, but if he doesn't do his part... What will you do then? You think mapping things out for kids is the answer? Instead of instilling work ethic and letting them know what they want from jump, and put them in that path?

Draymond is lucky. His plan met his moms fortunate finances that most dont have to offer.

It is luck. She doesnt have that house, hes not in the league.

You dudes continue to ignore the aspect of luck that is tied to most 1st generation black millionaires. You guys so badly want it to be purely hard work.

No she wouldnt have. She would have never had a track to the ivys and where she is today.

We are talking about Brownsville

The IDEA that “somebody else” is just out there to offer opps in the black community that one can stumble across again. :mjlol: in THAT community? shes out there teaching 40 plus year olds in corporate how to get their worth, amazed they can go all these years without tutelage. You REALLY are clueless
