Not lie to niqqas And sell them this bullshyt “by your own bootstraps” ethos.

No it isnt. You really dont know how destitute the neighborhoods some of us come out of. Youre only young once....Ms. Humphries doesnt walk me into the principles office after initially getting rejected from my HS, I dont play ball and get a scholarship to OU. My life trajectory changes completely.

Luck....you dont get it.
I don't come from much either so I do get it. My mom doesn't make a decision to move from New Jersey to North Carolina I'm probably doing something else not as productive today, but at the same time, I still had to bust my ass with less when opportunities did arise.

You could've just as easily slacked off on your training, given up to hopelessness etc, etc. But you still had to do your part of the equation when the time came. I'm not saying that you have replicable path of success to go play ball at OU. Just, moreso, give yourself a bit more credit than you are now.

The reason it’s “luck” is because chance is the differentiating factor.

Obviously you have to work “hard” as billions of human beings do.

But it takes those random acts of chance/opportunity to turn your hard work into wealth.

That’s the thing, your mom changed the entire trajectory of your life. No one is questioning how much you had to bust your ass....but if you lived in parts of NJ I THINK your mom left....maaaaaaaannnn....the opps are even worse for NJ folks living in the shadow of NYC. Those cities are outright neglected. A city like Patterson is stuck in the state of Brooklyn 1988. :scust:

Niqqa....you work WITH your accountant on those type of taxes, not “let them worry about it.”

:laff:

Ol’ “I heard BIG say my accountant handles that on a record” ass niqqa
No, I let the accountant do her job and I focus on adding income streams.

The non gentrified (beach) parts of Asbury Park. Neptune that area.

But I completely agree with your point that is does take something life altering to upgrade when you're coming from nothing. I guess I'm just saying you have to put yourself in a position for that lucky opportunity to mean anything if that makes sense.

I’m not trying to convince you of anything, ain’t nobody coming to save you
I don’t need saving, but a lot of our people do.

And telling them to “change their mindstate” and take advantage of the “new economy” by “sacrificing their life” and “working weekends” ain’t it :francis:

Might have to sig this one. :russ:
Bruh....my neighborhood was NYC’s boosting capital.

Niqqas would bomb the tri state area, even going as far as Redding, PA, to boost Lo. They were LEGENDARY, coming around the way with $400 Lo sweaters, jackets....you name it. This was the 80s. They gave birth to Hip Hop fashion but we didnt know it. Had Wu and the rest of NYC niqqas thirsty to get outta their “same ol’ Lo sweaters.”
