:francis:Calm your t*ts negro all these cacs getting paid off brands being pushed by black athletes and you have a problem a dude helping his brother get a check.
And they said at the draft that his brother became the man of the house at 12, I'm supposed to be mad at him for getting Foot Locker to break some bread with the big brother?

Rose's big brother does a lot of stuff for him.

Bron has the people he came up with doing stuff for him.

But a commercial, that's supposed to make you chuckle, showing Mudiay doing the same thing is enough to make you want to turn off the tv :dahell:

I see where Iggy is coming from. He doesn't like that the commercial seems to be making a stereotype out of the young black athlete's struggles and attempting to take care of his people once he gets out on...

For some, this is a REAL thing that they live with. A lot of us couldn't even begin to imagine the feeling of dreaming our entire lives to make it BIG and take care of our families and provide them with gifts and opportunities they never would have had otherwise. I'd imagine that for Iggy, or any other player, purchasing his mother or parents a home and being able to give his brother a job is a source of great pride and personal dignity. They wouldn't necessarily want that sort of personal accomplishment degraded or undermined.

However, after viewing the commercial itself. I didn't find it THAT offensive. It sort of had a " Started From The Bottom now we're here" vibe to it than a mocking vibe

You could've replaced Mudiay with a white player and nothing changes.

You look at the commercials, there isn't really a struggle being shown.

It's not like they had Mudiay standing in front of some project building with police cars speeding by and cats doing hand to hands on the corner.

The commercial where he buys his mom a house, the before the draft, he's already sitting in a what appears to be a decent house.

Iggy talks about buying houses not being a part of the obligation, nothing in the commercial hints at it being so.

Have they ever aired a commercial like that where the athlete is buying a house for both of his parents or for his father like kyrie? People are busy being mad at the messenger instead of what's actually going on. It's clear these cacs are slick with their bullshyt. There's been plenty of players who've come from poor two parent homes. It is what it is. Play up a negative stereotype. Negroes don't have fathers.

I feel you and I'm not arguing that.

I'm just saying I could understand how an athlete, or really anyone who went through that sort of "struggle all of my life to succeed and put my people on" life could take that shyt extremely seriously....

Again I'm not personally offended by the commercial....but I understand...

I am kinda tired of the media making Black Mama's the face of the NBA...Single dad's like Okafor and Kyrie's pops rarely get shine...Actually unless you played in the league (Kobe, Steph, Klay, Grant) nobody gives a damn about Black fathers...

But Iggy been c00nin so fukk him....

I feel what you're saying about iggy. I really don't give a fukk even though he's on my team :yeshrug: but for people to completely dismiss what he's saying acting like he's overreacting or wrong? :stopitslime: :rudy: , that's some bullshyt. Any semi aware black person should know about the propaganda these people try to spread and enforce. Chris rock had it right, nobody gives a fukk about daddy. (Of course he was mostly talking about black fathers). shyt has been drilled into so many of these idiots heads that they don't need a father or anything. A lot of these lost women believe it and some of these idiots follow. They love to trot out and spotlight this shyt of broken black homes and black women doing it all in order to completely marginalize the black man.

You sounding insecure right here. Where do they hype up the white players dads but not moms? Now if that was the case you'd have something but otherwise you being offended for no reason on top of cats like Lebron unfortunately don't have their dad in the picture. Add that to the fact that moms get covered more in sports in general it seems when this stuff comes up whats the big deal?
