Even in my high school the lesbians were on the HS basketball team and the tall straight girls played Volleyball and softball.

It was the same way at my High School too. Dykes played Basketball, straight & more attractive females played Softball & Volleyball. This goes for both White & Black girls. The Volleyball team & especially the Softball team had more support than the Girl's Basketball team.
