Champion boxer Andre Ward and British champion boxer Tony Bellew are in negotiations to join the cast of "Creed," the upcoming spin-off of the "Rocky" franchise at MGM.

"Fruitvale Station" director Ryan Coogler and actor Michael B. Jordan are re-teaming for the project in which Jordan plays the grandson of Carl Weathers' Apollo Creed from the original films.

The younger Creed is being mentored by Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) and will take on a savage opponent named Pretty Ricky Porter (Bellew). Filming aims to begin in January in Las Vegas and Philadelphia.
