Andrew Bynum has received criticism from NBA analysts such as Magic Johnson and former mentors like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and now his former high school coaches admit they do not have fond memories of the center.

"Everyone here at school says the same thing: What’s wrong with him? Why does he act like that?" says St. Joe’s athletic director Jerry Smith. "He went from someone we’re proud of to someone whose name we don’t even mention anymore."

Bynum, who attended St. Joseph High School before declaring for the 2005 NBA Draft, was officially announced out for the season on Monday with surgery on both knees.

"Yeah, I never respond to that kind of request, because Andrew has chosen not to stay in touch for whatever reason, so I just don’t get involved with it," says former St. Joe's coach Mark Taylor. "I don’t dislike him, and he’ll continue to do well if he can stay healthy, but I’m sure he’s got people who will guide him in times like this."

Best Center in the league for less than max is a steal.

Bynum is gonna play with a vengeance next year.

20-12 3 blocks MINIMUM

For like 20 games. Then he'll probably be injured again. Never seen a player this young be that fragile.

Bullshyt. They just mad that Andrew hasnt donated any money to the school or come to visit. :russ:

I would too. It's exciting when a player who has done something comes back.

I remember when Ryan Howard won ROY, came back to my h.s. and it was great. Bynum's a weirdo lol. :leostare:

so they wait till his knees are bone and bone to tear the ligaments of trust that kept them quiet for all these years?
