I’m aware of the hype. Like I already said, to meet that sort of hype you’d have to put up 2004 Peyton numbers annually, and nobody does that. What makes him a bust? Every year he averaged 260+ yards per game. From his second year on he was completing about 63% of his passes with a ton of his yardage in the air before the ball was caught. Every year he averaged between 2-2.5 touchdown passes per game, and just 2.5% of his throws led to picks. He was 53-33 as a starter with 20 game winning drives while playing for a team that rarely had a defense, had a poor line, and rarely ran the ball well. To do that in 6 seasons where he saw the field, one of which he missed half the season is impressive. The colts were consistently in the playoffs when he was healthy and they had playoff success every year that was the case except 2012. Are we really doing the routine of the colts not winning a championship being his fault? I’m not saying he was the best in the world or anything, but there isn’t an argument for him being a bust. The colts have been too dependent on their quarterback play since drafting Peyton.
