He and his brother were held in custody from their arrest in December until the end of March, when a Romanian Court of Appeals allowed that to be changed to home detention.

Home detention was maintained until the end of August, when it was switched to "judicial control" and limits on his travel.

That's the status quo right now while they wait for trial to begin. Even in America, it often takes a year or years for cases like this to go to trial, and Romania might be worse. I mean, look at Trump, he's been arrested too and he's out there campaigning for president. This shyt takes time.
