Folks keep bringing up the fans only being a third of the vote, but see, the problem with that is, the fans, media and his peers all influence one another. Wiggins is only getting recognition because he's on the Warriors, that includes the media, his peers and the fans. Nobody would be give a fukk about him if he was still in Minny. His importance and impact on GS isn't any greater than any other role player; it's his story arc and the narrative around his play (which is largely exaggerated) which has led to him being selected.

The majority of starting wings in the league would be in line for an All-Star selection if they were put in the same position. Playing alongside Steph in the GS system is a cheat code for role players to maximize their worth.

I've treated this shyt as a joke ever since they got rid of 5 position voting.
Tried to market as players being more positionless than ever, but really it was just because. nikkas was made they couldn't get in because they was the 4th or 5th best point guard in the league, despite being better than say the second best center. but to me that made it more competitive. This is the result. all this just because Roy Hibbert made it during a down year for bigs.
