Should’ve let him retire as an Angel, they save absolutely $0 dollars by doing this. Maybe sit him and come in as a pinch hitter the rest of the way to let him go out gracefully and the few fans in attendance to pay their respect. Pujols was 100 % consensus the best player after Bonds retired lol. From about 06-2010 he was unquestionable the best player, lead the NL in WAR 5 straight seasons, should have 5 MVPs. Based of WAR7, (which a player's peak 7 years), he's a top 14 position player ever. Only Trout, and Bonds and arguably A-Rod in the last 60 years have been better.
