Not going to argue, but you seem to be missing the point. The question in the OP is rather easy to answer, wouldn't you agree?Doubt it
Also pretty funny that a History major would call an engineering degree worthless.
I'm not missing anything. I chose to take up issue with your statements on engineering and bachelor's degrees in general, rather than the initial focus on the homework paper. Not going to argue, but you seem to be missing the point. If I claimed I conducted an "extensive" study of history in my undergraduate work I'd be bullshytting too. That was my original point; the parent using his basic degree in an attempt to comes off as some math wizard is lame. Also, if I stopped at a bachelors I'd probably be landscaping right now.I'm not missing anything. I chose to take up issue with your statements on engineering and bachelor's degrees in general, rather than the initial focus on the homework paper.
The question on the paper was basic arithmetic, but I agree with the father's note that it's a lot simpler and more straightforward without all the number line common core stuff thrown in.
too bad. Don't sign up to be a teacher if you can't handle that
You tell me. You keep coming up with these bullshyt narratives illustrating that you're CLEARLY not a teacher
don't be a teacher if you don't want the government writing your lesson plans for you?
It's not his fault121wow jack is an imbecile.
The common core is demonic
even his mathematical phenom of a father couldnt figure it out
I looked at it for a couple minutes now and I still can't figure out what they're going for with this method
read page 2. That was the parents attempt at solving the problem. I'm not particularly fond of common core methods, however; they do workI've never seen this before, and I'm puzzled too. Why are the '100' markers not in scale?

@Shogun might be PMing you with some of my kid's homework problems
if shyt gets to hairy. That's the problem. Teachers were just expected to pick it up. Now, some teachers see it as their professional responsibility to figure it out, others aren't going to do shyt unless they're paid....typical union mentality.read page 2. I think there's a lot of old dogs not wanting to learn new tricks. Our education system was going in the wrong direction quite frankly a change needed to be made...not that this was the right change but I'd rather them chance a change and fail then stick to the same path and get the known results out of that path.

Oh and were you taught how to teach common core? Or was that some shyt the teachers were just expected to pick up?
