Anita Baker's "Compositions" (1990) LP alone is untouchable... Doc Powell produced, George Duke on the keys... She's actually one of the greatest JAZZ vocalists of all time, she was put in the soul/rnb category to sell records in the 80s, early 90s, but she's deeply respected in Jazz circles, her vocal range and controll is uncanny.

You gotta really know your music to understand WHY Anita Baker is a generational talent.
Sade makes decent well produced "smooth" music, and has that monotone delivery....its... Uh... Cute
