I knew it would be meh breh. I went with my homegirl cause she was dying to see it. There were a couple of good scares in it, as in legitimate shyt but much like the equalizer, it took too long to get to where it was trying to go and got predictable. Theater was live though

Yea I read the script way back when the first trailer dropped and I loved that part, but then I got to the part after that and I was like They blew a great opportunity

IGN's verdict sums up how I feel about the movie:

Overall, Annabelle is a serviceable, but not particularly memorable horror flick that should nevertheless click with the same audiences who regularly turn exorcism movies into hits. But if you go to Annabelle expecting it to be as scary or as effective as The Conjuring, you'll likely leave disappointed.

This movie was so disappointing. I really feel so silly for holding onto a shred of hope it had some redeeming qualities. It was like one running gag that went on way too long. I appreciate they were trying to develop a real story, and familiarize us with the central family members so we could be more empathetic to their pain and terror. However, ultimately, it was just too much focus on building tension, and not enough payoff. Definitely save it for cable. I wouldn't even recommend renting this one.

Yet people continue to give these lazy ass writers and directors and producers profit so thwey don't have to actually try to make a good horror movie...people go out and give millions of dollars to fukking Devil's Due and all those other terrible ass exorcism movies and bullshyt like that...utterly ridiculous...

Wan probably said what most smart directors said, "How can you make a story out of this?" So he turned it down...but he wrote a movie coming out next year called Demonic so we will see if the movie he turned this down for is any good

Oh ok, expect another pretty polished tribute type flick with plenty of inspired and homages in scenes and conventions...he does aplly it well.
