Why did Armand let Louis burn down the enclave when he was the one who was going to let them kill him before Lestat interfered?

1. Talamasca, secret organization studying supernaturals from wqhat I can gather.
2. Armand wants Louis to love him. He saw the opportunity to play hero to Louie after Lestat interfered with the trial. Armand an opportunist/manipulator
3. Seems to be "rockstar lestat". Idk what that means
Seems we see shyt from LeStat's perspective too. The previous season eerything was from Louis' perspective.
