Agree with @Gizmo_Duck it’s best to hold Drake to a pop artist standard instead of Hiphop. We do it for Kayne, and Drake fits that mold too.
It’s honestly even more simple… lol. Yes pop stars have songs written for them… but there talent lies in… singing lol. As a rapper, if you have a full song laid out for you, what’s your talent lol?? It’s why I respect Travis Scott for what he does. Doesn’t try to make claims of being the greatest rapper. Just makes dope sounding sonic compositions. Not even about his raps really, his talent lies in his atmospheric music.I don’t really understand what that has to do with I said. I never claimed to be surprised or disappointed I just said treat drake like you would any other pop artist
You can like the music but understand he can’t be measured in real rap conversations with other rappers
Damn, breh... I've been wanting to get into ghost writing/song writing(been purchasing Akai devices for song making)...is it too late for me, breh? The way it works is ghostwriters essentially post a bulletin that they got an opportunity and writers in their network will submit concepts that they will bring to the table, there tends to be a handshake agreement to kick down the writer if the song gets picked up. But what often happens is that fragments or pieces of the song or concept will be picked up and what would’ve been the sole creative contributor ends up giving the song concept and/or the most valuable lyric - the most catchy portion of the hook
Uncredited
But the writer pool is shrinking with a bigger bottleneck at the top (those with their foot in the door on active projects)
With AI/LLM they have special systems tailored to their specifications so it doesn’t sound like generic corny and robotic like it does when you ask it to rap.
So because of this the top contributing writers are conferring with AI rather than their pool of writers
You’re going to notice a homogenization take place over the next decade
The discerning ear will be able to recognize the signature mark of a what will be one of a few different writing systems
The music industry has been working on algorithmic LLM long before the tech world - there’s been a system that can rate the contemporary value of each phrase used in a song

Never let anyone to steer you clear of your path brehDamn, breh... I've been wanting to get into ghost writing/song writing(been purchasing Akai devices for song making)...is it too late for me, breh?

I'm bout to put a Drake AI filter over BEAM whole discography
that could work. post the link lolWe do it for Kanye and Dre because they’re producers who have orchestrated hit songs and entire albums for other artists. Meanwhile Drake doesn’t contribute much of anythingAgree with Gizmo_Duck it’s best to hold Drake to a pop artist standard instead of Hiphop. We do it for Kayne, and Drake fits that mold too.
