Probably Irish since they were the majority in North Philly at one point.
His family was probably one of the ones who refused to leave when black people became the majority.

Yea, i think historically going back to the 50's-60's North Philly was an Irish ghetto (school like Roman Catholic) ect.
And South Philly was majority Italian but that's now just a small community left if i'm not mistaken.
