In the video, at the beginning, Don tells his producers "I can't keep a thought with you guys are in my ear" (he's touching his earpiece when he says it).
So it sounds like they didn't want Don to engage with him and he did it anyway.
You got it confused.
By pointing to the "progress" others have/had fought for black folks over the last century, it is in fact utilized to belittle the fact that black folks have it harder than other races in 2023. Cool we made progress since 150 years ago, but now what?
