Manningham is NOT HR ability like some others suggested in this thread... you have 3 very similar receivers with 1 just slightly quicker/faster than the other

I can't believe we couldn't figure out some way to pay him. He came through for us numerous times in the playoffs. Whether he decides to play next season or not, I wish him the best.

It's not that we couldn't. It's that we really didn't want to. I hope Oz knows something we don't. I don't really like this move. There's lots of ways to save 2 million and the Ravens did not offer an extension. It's obvious they never wanted Anquan long term.

Ill agree that Id rather see a corner signed, but the only ones Id take for that money are revis and grimes...and looks like both aint happenin

if you guys know he was gonna get waived so a 6th rounder is nothing, why wouldn't you LET him get waived and sign him to an offer sheet below 6MM?

like Ive said, we did need a guy like that, but boldin is a great WR in general.

manningham was able to play the deep guy role in NY, so barring slow come back from injury, I dont see why he cant. kw has blazing speed as well.

again, I agree that secondary was main priority, but this draft is deep so I understand them not willing to spend big on revis or grimes

Because maybe there was no concrete guarantee that he was getting waived. A lot of talk is "reactionary" and just gets blown up more and more out of proportion as it passes from one source to another.

I'm sure a lot of people behind the scenes have more information than the masses and keep it really tight to the vest with these deals, so I think it fair to trust their judgement.


Also has it already been set in stone that the Niners arent getting Sean Smith? And who's to say that there isnt a better option out there that they see?
