With his "limits" in the low post, he's still averaging 20 pts on >50% (just like his rookie year)

What are you talkin' about? He just finished his 2nd season

He needs to improve his FT, but, he's only about 21

Dude's ceiling is high

LeBron James without a jumpshot or post game put up 31/7/6 as a 21 year old 3rd year player. He's a million times better today and "only" put up 27/8/7 last year. Men lie. women lie. numbers too. just cause davis fills up the stat sheet doesn't mean his game is complete.

I explicitly mentioned his ceiling is high...as in, he has ways to go. But, no one was lookin' at 'Bron and say :troll: Nah, I don't see the individual talent.

You're arguing with yourself.

Exactly... Dudes comparing him to Duncan are letting me know they aren't watching his strengths and skillset...Duncan was a born post player... Davis was a guard his whole life until he his a growth spurt 3 years ago...

People forget about this, or maybe don't know it. Anthony Davis is not a natural forward... he's still growing into it. He also doesn't have the frame to be a 270 pound center that sets up on the block most possessions... that's not his game.

He was awesome to watch this season.

The corner 3 is the shortest distance 3 on the floor...For him to not work on it would be negligent..It's the smartest shot in the game...

But yall know the game better than Monty Williams so why am I bothering telling you wassup..

:mjlol:
Corner 3 might be the closest but for w/e physical or psychological reason it's harder to make for a lot of players. I know myself id take an open straight away 3 over open corner any day.

Love
We applauding centers for working on their 3 point shot now :upsetfavre:
YES

The old mindset of "Centers should only play in the paint" is old. Thats ont thing that has plagued american born bigs for decades. They're only good at one thing: Playing big.
You need variety in your life. Look at Sabonis. Look at Dirk. Hell even Olajuwon played outside to some degree but noone will question neither of these players toughness. Instead you have most mofos trying to be SHaq and cant hit a 10 foot jumper because coaches never taught them to or even let them TRY.

Dont get me wrong, I dont want my center taking hals of his shots from 15 feet. That's not what i'm saying. But at least have that in the repertoire so people have to come guard you if you step out there too. THe Ideal center to me is Ewing and David Robinson. Can kiil you in the paint but you still respect them and have to contest the shot when they pull up from 17 feet out

Looks like Gentry is serious about this. I still have my doubts though.

He has to make 150 corner 3s from each side every practice.

:russ:

Steve from Marrero: What specifically are you doing to develop Anthony Davis’ offensive game? Gentry: We’re going to spend a lot of time on increasing his shooting range, especially to corner 3s. Every day he goes into the gym, he needs to make 150 corner 3s from each side. That’s got to become a consistent shot for him. I don’t think that’s going to be problem for him because, if you go back to his high school days, he was a very good shooter. He still has that range, but I don’t think it’s been incorporated into his offense since then.

Would make more sense to me to just put good spacing around him , rather than rely on him to create it

but shiiiit... if he can add a 3 ball without sacrificing other parts of his game ... good on him
