2 years isn't too far away. We'll just have to wait and see. I'm a bit perpelexed by this hype. I've watched him and I never thought transcendant player.

to me if you say he's gonna be best in the league, that means you think he'll be transcendant like Kobe, LeBron, Shaq, Jordan. an all-time top 10-20 great. I simply don't know how anyone could say that about Davis after just two seasons and his biggest accomplishment being finishing 2nd in ROY.

You're "perplexed" by the hype, and scoff at his supposed lack of accomplishments after two seasons... Yet you mention Kobe, who didn't put up any numbers in AD's realm during his first few seasons, and was shooting crunch time airballs in the playoffs. Maybe you should try to focus on AD's obvious strengths and potential, and afford him the same patience you would Kobe.

Your right about barkley after that 93 finals he went into fukk it mode and started shooting 3's like he was thunder dan. He was awful from there, but i think he realized he couldn't beat people with just his athleticism anymore and he was wayyy undersized so he had to re-invent his game per say. The problem was he was an awful shooter

When his athleticism waned, he OD'd with the 3s. But even during that Finals run he was shooting too many 3s. That season he put up damn near 3 a game. Terrible. Even in Philly he'd started shooting 2 a game, which was absurd for a post player who didn't have a good 3. But even beyond that, his midrange was wack too. That shot he made over D. Rob to end the series was actually a bad shot - I remember watching that ISO and thinking no, no, no! And then feeling very thankful it went in. Barkley was an amazing player, but he overrated his range like a motherfukker.

Not only are you talking about players with fundamentally different builds and talents, but Charles Barkley - my favorite player ever - eventually fell in love with the 3, even before his athleticism faded, and missed that shot at a historic rate... so maybe he should've been practicing more corner 3s.

C-Webb's narrative is totally skewed by "the timeout," a couple passive possession in the playoffs, and being failed against the Lakers by the refs, Peja, and Doug Christie. If the Kings win the chip that year, history would remember him as one of the most unique players we've ever seen.
Chris Webber is my all time favorite player and the reason I'm a Kings fan. The narrative is unfair. He revolutionized the PF position. As far as those Kings teams, if anyone deserves blame it is Peja. He ALWAYS shrank in big moments.

kg was the best player for like 1 year

no he wasn't. duncan was always better. and don't get me wrong, i was a KG guy back in the early 00s and would argue nikkas till i was blue in the face that he was better.

then my Lakers played both in the playoffs. then i learned the fraud that was KG and just how much better Duncan was, even when KG got MVP.

:comeon: kobe EVENTUALLY became transcendant. I never said I thought in his second season or even third, that he'd become what he became. no one was making claims that he'd be the best player in the NBA in 2 years. i'm not even gonna say Davis can't become the best player eventually. I just don't think we've seen enough YET for anyone to make that claim. he'd need to improve massively as low post scorer before he sniffs that kinda praise.

cousins had comprable numbers to davis in his second season. why is no one claiming cousins will be the best in the league?

With his "limits" in the low post, he's still averaging 20 pts on >50% (just like his rookie year)

What are you talkin' about? He just finished his 2nd season

He needs to improve his FT, but, he's only about 21

The sky is the limit for young AD. I can see him averaging a 25 12 with 4 blocks 4 assists and a couple of steals one day. Maybe even sooner than I think at that. The way he has improved his game in just two years is amazing and in time he will be if not the best then one of the two or three best players in the league.
