Oh well :manny:

Boxing fans to blame for shyt like this. Excused Floyd for doing it and recently excused Canelo for doing it. shyt WWF status now with fighters taking years to build up fights that people wanna see NOW.

Btw :russ: @ this happening to Wilder though after years of people asking why he kept taking tune up fights instead of calling out Wlad. Now that he done secured the bag for years he mad cause all his big fights falling thru. Naw nikka go fight Stiverne or some other bum on PBC while Joshua get another PPV event in the UK in front of 70K fans :takedat:

yea i guess me and the entire boxing world full of coaches, boxers, reporters and fans is all casuals except you. it's pretty well known that floyd, at some point, started carefully picking opponents instead of #1 contenders and other champs

i didn't say i LIKE the tactic.. but be serious.. floyd fought de la hoya past his prime... a coked up hatton... juan marquez was small and floyd purposely came in 2-3 pounds over weight.. sugar shane past his prime.. canelo before his prime.. pacman past his prime.. last two fights vs washed up berto.. and then a fukking ufc fighter

i never once said every fight he took was bullshyt.. what i said was, at some point, you can't just say "i'm only going to fight the best of the best, even when i think i'm going to lose" IF your goal is to maximize your profits. dude obviously feels he's going to lose.. fukk feelings.. he said with his own mouth that he doesn't want to fight him and he's not ready to fight him..

does it sound like he's making a "let me appease fans and risk a L" OR "let me keep getting these champion checks until i'm forced to fight him"

You're definitely a casual.

A coked up Hatton? Hatton began using drugs after his defeat, not when he was an undefeated two-division champion.

Pacman past his prime? Would make sense...if Floyd wasn't older than Pacquiao and past his prime too.

Canelo before his prime? And how old was Floyd when he fought this green, 42-0 junior middleweight champion?

Now De La Hoya was past his prime at 33? You do realize that in every fight you mentioned aside from Oscar and JMM (where Floyd 3 months shy of 33 and coming off a 2-yr layoff)...Floyd was 33 and older?

You also realize that it was Oscar who delayed the fight? And that it was fought at a weight Floyd had never fought at before?

You would know these things if you weren't a casual fan. Why don't you learn a little more about the sport? Or feel free to respond with hyperbole and a bunch of emojis.

Floyd beat a coked up Hatton. Christ.

Yup. Me and Floyd are casuals. Don’t even bother with a response unless Floyd has said something backing up anything you just went on about. nikka admitted doing the very thing I said Joshua was doing. And for the exact reason I said he was doing it.

But I’m a casual :mjlol:

Floyd Mayweather says his undefeated record has been partly built on the back of handpicked opponents who didn't always provide the toughest fights but did help him become the world's best paid athlete.
"Sometimes they say, 'Well, Floyd Mayweather's opponents was handpicked.' That's a good thing," Mayweather said during a conference call with reporters to hype Saturday's world title fight against Mexico's Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. "I commend my team ... when I sit back and I think about my career, I say 'you know what? I had a cool career. I didn't take any punishment'.

"If they say these guys were handpicked, they were handpicked to make $40 and $50 and $60 million, then you know what? Keep handpicking them. If they're going to keep paying, keep handpicking them."

Joshua is my guy, but this is honestly a bad look.

But as Floyd taught everyone, never let people pressure you into a fight you’re not ready to have. The nikkas talking shyt will always find a reason to criticize.

Plus I’m sure he’s loving being in the limelight right now. Dudes everywhere! Naija represent!!!

Well since you begging for it

I was wrong on Hatton.

Oscar being 33 is not no damn prime. I didn’t bring up weight and who did what do that doesn’t matter. He fought him out his prime. Why doesn’t it matter.......

He fought manny out his prime. Whether both were out their prime or not. Manny wasn’t in his. But was asking for the fight for yearsssssss. So if it didn’t matter that Floyd was ducking, why does it matter if Hoya was ducking. He didn’t fight him in his prime

I also listed 4 other fighters. And posted Floyd agreeing with me. But you didn’t counter any of that. And please don’t. Floyd has spoken

Floyd didn't agree with you regarding any of the fights you mentioned. Not sure what formula you used to come up with that conclusion.

If Oscar being 33 was out of prime then Floyd was out of prime for almost every fight you mentioned.

Feel free to post anything backing what you're saying on Hatton.

You’re an idiot breh

I openly admitted I was wrong about Hatton. I used EXAMPLES of an overall point. That Joshua, like Floyd, is trying to handpick fights he can win to maximize profits.

You said Floyd didn’t do that. Floyd said he did. Did he give a 50 fight listing of when that was? No. But he damn sure admitted to you the strategy.

Anything past that and I’m done talking. Joshua ducking for the bread. That’s what this was always about

No, he didn't admit that was the strategy. He said, "If they say..." and was basically using their argument against them with regard to getting paid. You're probably one of those clowns who thought Floyd called himself a "rich coward" too. And you call me an idiot? Funny.

And yeah, I saw your lame examples. You were forced to recant one and your words destroyed the rest of it (Oscar was past prime at 33). You been done, dude. But feel free to come back if you're a glutton for punishment.

You got nikkas like SRR fighting every few weeks in random venues, and fighting Jake Lamotta 8 times, 2 times in a month and shyt. Floyd did what any sane person would do, take care of your health and maximize your profits. He was more careful in who and when he fought then any of the other goats, but that's the natural progression of boxing.

Saying he was ducking nikkas he would wash is a stretch, but he was careful and smart.

I don't think he realizes how little sense his argument makes. But he's clearly a casual fan.

Mayweather was calling out Oscar as far back as 2002. He was in no position to demand or duck anything from Oscar, who was the sport's biggest star then. The fight was made when Oscar wanted, and he forced Floyd to fight at 154 when Floyd had only been at 147 for barely a year. How someone translates that to "waiting until Oscar was past his prime" is beyond me. Just shows you know little about boxing.

Same with Mosley.

I usually ignore casuals on this board but it was actually a pretty good debate and it got interrupted. Which was annoying enough for me to respond.
