I met Anthony in 2016 at an autograph signing, he was a good dude, Took several pictures and did a faceoff with me.
I went to Buffalo to see his final fight against DC in person. I was really hoping he would win that night, but DC got the better of him and Anthony retired.
Him going into Sweden and destroying Gus in 2 minutes is an all timer for me. They sold out 25,000+ seats and he steamrolled the guy in his home country. It felt like he couldn’t be beat after that performance. Legend.
Damn RIP. I had to search because no one was really saying it and speculation about cause was running rampant. But apparently he had non Hodgkin’s lymphoma and some other cancer related illness. Wanted to keep it quiet like Chadwick Boseman
He was one of my favorite fighters to watch. He that Tyson-esque aura about him, one of the scariest individuals to ever step foot in a cage or ring. The power he could generate was ungodly. Shame he never got to win a title. R.I.P. Rumble!
