It was never going to end by American action. Isreal is its own thing but its American policy (not based on who is in office) to support them. The alternative is pulling out completely and risking them being wiped out entirely due to how that region views them.
There is a tightrope to walk and while Biden should have been on Bibi's ass publicly, he could always say "fukk you" and use what they have or what they can get elsewhere to attack Palestinians. He ran on not being apart of wars so it's in his best intrest that the hostages are freed. If they are freed before he gets in office he is going to take credit for it anyway because of his strong tweet
