,mmmm sadly some christians believe that the imam mahdi is the Antichrist. since we got this anti Muslim sentiment, they want to believe this. But sadly i believe it could be a set up, since i think the real Antichrist could( actually he will) defeat the enemies of Israel ( which would include the Muslim world) so those Christians who believe or have been deceived to believe that the AC is a Muslim, might believe that the AC is Jesus because he saved Israel from its enemies and obviously those fake Jews will be all over this dude anointing him as the messiah
