Jay wasn’t the only one not performing in the hip hop 50th though. That was Nas’ show. But he can’t win anyway cause everyone hates him.

I don't have a dog in this Jay Z thing that's been going on for the past week since he performed at Tom Brady's event, but in my opinion, Jay Z reminds me of Stringer Bell. he wants so bad to fit in with white folks that are deemed "elite" by social media standards and they simply don't care about him. Then you have the crakkka eminem that they love and want at their events, but he shuns them not caring for the attention (Marlo). while wanting the praise Jay Z is getting from the streets hahah. I'm not a fan of either of them at the moment, it's just the way I see it.

I don’t know if it would’ve took any shine away from others cause it was a celebration of every influence possible. If anything it would’ve elevated the show more.
At one point Jay was separating himself from Kanye because of that. He said in What’s Free that he didn’t really need with him just they didn’t think the same.
