If we only count highly "liquid" assets (cash, stocks etc) and DON'T include the value of homes, what would the gap look like?

Whites will generally pay a premium to live in neighborhoods with no people of color. The homes end up being priced higher because of white demand for these places. Blacks constitute a much smaller share of the population and we aren't as particular when it comes to buying in different neighborhoods. Our homes (if we buy them) end up being valued at a lower price point.

Truth is, most whites aren't doing that well either. Most if not all their wealth is tied to their homes.

The fact that the Coli isn’t engaging this lets me know y’all are all full of shyt

This is the work of real scholars doing real work.

You do realize people have to actually read the damn near 50 pages of thesis, digest it, maybe do some medium-work research, and then speak on it. You didn't just drop a tweet.

To be clear, I'm still reading the article.

Like what? What practical things to they offer up as solutions.

All I hear them say is some general stuff about politics, social transformation, etc.

Does that mean revolution?

Does that mean reparations?

Grassroots poliics
Vote based on our agenda to force government to make corrective policies to help descendants of slave prosper.

I mean yeah if we keeping it 100

the mayor of Jackson, Mississippi is the only example I can think of someone in an elected office giving power to the constitutes by way of worker owned co-ops among other ways

A Worker-Owned Cooperative Is Revitalizing Jackson, Mississippi

A better way is possible, and not by banks, penny stocks but by direct democracy.

Their wealth is close to a falsity as they adopted credit as the "new" wealth

Access to credit is their wealth (I know...it's a safety net for them, but each time they bounce on it the twine unravels until they get another form of credit)...

This will push them into debt even more.

Exactly!

The elite top 1% whites, banks etc., are definitely doing better. The wealth gap is not about race but class.

They want us to focus on the black/white gap instead of the 1% vs 99% gap....one that is growing at a rapid rate. White people in 1960 were much better off than their grandkids today. If you remove inheritance income, credit and housing values, they are sitting on a pile of straw.

So this thread says that the wealth gap is indeed racial not class. Data Shows Punishing Reach of Racism: Black college grads have less wealth than white HS dropouts

So which is right?
