All valid points......
. Goal should be to find a nice middle ground, and to have have a side business or joint venture, that allows you to make money too.

I mean success is hard to define, average salary in the US is 50k and with an advanced degree average salary in the US is 90k. So basically, if you enjoy leaving pretty poorly (in a large city), then go ahead and enjoy it. If you want a car, a nice crib, clothes, visit other countries, have kids, watch some ball games, eat good food and on.. You'll have a problem.
Even if it was 90k a year, you've got to make that for the rest of your life. If 90k is your peak years and your career is as long as the average career, then 90k is nothing. Unless you can venture into something that pays the same.
You've got to think about income over 40-50 years. Something a lot of rappers and ballers seem to forget about.
Then move breh.Maybe in some states $40k is enough to support yourself but in NY that's not going to cut it especially if you have kids.
but you doing neither
I do too. But I'd beI make more than that , I'm pretty sure a lot of people here do![]()
but you doing neither
thats the problem. if they went in with a mindset that they could make a 100K or something instead and set realistic goals to get them there theyd be less bitter and the product wouldnt suffer either i bet.Artists don't go into the game thinking "I want to make 40,000 a year".
They want to be millionaires
I do too. But I'd beabout saying a lot of people here (the booth) do
