so it is a good idea to lose weight if you are fat ?

Do you want to lose weight? If so, yes...the conditioning will result in weight loss. Running/jogging miles a day, skip roping, shadow boxing and form work will burn calories.

Are you training for self defense?
Are you interested in learning how to box methodically?

Those are two separate approaches breh.

I will be training for self defense but i see the benefits of training in methodically. The only reason why i need to up my fighting skills, well it's cause it's hard out there. I think it's due to the economy, which is why people are moving towards drug hustling, and where's theres drugs, there are guns. im out here trying to stay alive.

I feel that. Well since you're aiming at upping your skill set as priority, you need to convey that to the instructor or coach of your choosing. If you say "I want to learn how to box"...that coach is going to give you that werk...as would I. You seem to want/need:

1. Easy to learn sets of direct punch technique "jabs/st8s, and basic defense. I would supplement dirty boxing tech also.

2. There is no way around some form of conditioning breh, punching is tiring. If you want to throw more than 7 good punches, you will need to condition your upperbody and core band. Pushups, situps, planks, and shadowboxing with either wrist weights or 160z ers, invest in a heavybag and put in 2 minute drills.

3. Get a strap.

4. Walk away from fist fights breh.

5. Watch film

For starters.

first thing is to get your cardio UP!!!

Second, look for a gym with less, ummm how can I put this... "suburban peeps" and more athletes.

Also, just enjoy the workout. Its one of the best workouts you can get!

I cannot help you with any of this, but all i can say is that i have been training for close to a year now and i've developed the power of life and death in BOTH hands. Also, I have been weightlifting for years, so i am a lean 200 lbs now, with speed and quickness. Pretty much, I would whoop like 99% of thecoli and men in general in real life. The reason is i have the speed and the power. If you are big enough to stand with me, then you aren't fast enough, and if you are fast enough to be on my level, i will eventually drop the hammer on you bc i have the mind of a boxing savant as well and am probably better conditioned than most people on earth. Now you cannot obtain my level op, but you can get some good results bc boxing is the best and oldest form of combat on earth. That is assuming you are decently athletic and not some balding loser married to an asian woman he paid for.
