i spent 4 months studying in sevilla in 2001, did a bunch of traveling to most major cities while i was there.

if you're strictly choosing between madrid and barcelona i liked barcelona better.

2001 it was a completely different world. I went in 2000 for 1 month as a kid doing some language exchange program. Then I came back in '07 to teach Business English as an internship in College.

It was like night and day. The mood in Madrid was somber and terrible.

I had fun and made the best of it when I could, but I got involved with a few local bytches and they brought drama in my life, I was a semi-alcoholic as the legal age there was 19.

The winter there is extremely depressing compared to NYC especially after the holidays.

I want to go because the tickets are cheap as hell.

That is not a good reason at all breh. There are plenty of other cheap places to visit that are more Black friendly right now.

Went to Barcelona in 2009. Party in the night, 4 star hotel paid by my school in the morning, sightseeing at noon and repeat. Lots of cultural stuff to see/visit, great clubs, and if you look like a tourist (which you'll obviously will) lots of people try to sell you shyt in the evening. Lots of Indian type of guys selling cold ass beer in the evening, good stuff. Bought so much at the end of my trip we became kinda cool and after I mentioned I'm from Amsterdam dude gave me a free piece of some good ass hash lol. Watch out for pickpockets/scams though, eat good and enjoy breh. Didn't experience any racism btw.

What cities can i get round trip tickets for sub 500 bucks? I already have an Africa trip set up for next yr so this is strictly on price.

I been to sevilla , was there for a month. beautiful place with gorgeous model looking women. You got to go to the Budda club?
i remember first time i went to a club in sevilla,
i was falling asleep on top of the speakers around 5 am lol . They be opened till morning time.

Madrid is a large, populous city. Reminded me of New York....very crowded. People have that 'big city' vibe....kind of pretentious and stuckup....

Barcelona is more laidback. Better weather....parties all the time...music festivals....

I have an african name so im wondering if that will cause issues. Mainly i want to do some sight seeing and maybe a train ride to see some Moorish Castles.

Checkout the Alhambra in Grenada. Definitely the most worthwhile historical palace I've ever been to.

Got invited to Seville, Cordoba, and Madrid; then took a boat ride to Tangiers (Morrocco) one Spring. Mostly walked around stuff, drank good wine, and ate a lot in nice places and we had great hotels.

Everyone spoke English, and very safe. Didn't hit up one beach though (and I think the bullfighting was off-season o something), it was chilly, but still warmed than NY at the time.

Yeah i think Alhambra is like an 8 hr ride from barcelona. I assume there are tours that go from Barcelona or Madrid there.

Im African.... I never had any issues, but I stay in Barcelona..... dont really go any other part of Spain... its laidback

never had a problem getting in anywhere..... all the years Ive been going there I can just about say hello and goodbye in Spanish ...... never been a problem
