what are your experiences?
how are you treated?
Do you miss your fellow brehs now?
Did it make you negative and cynical? :jbhmm:

I live in a pretty diverse area about 30% Hispanic, 20% white 20% Asian and 20% Black with Dominicans and Fillipinos taking the majority. I get along well with pretty much all races. :manny:

I don't exactly feel the need to be completely among brehs just to fit in but i don't exactly mind being in an all black environment(a safe one of course ). But that's just my personality.

I live in a city within the greater Inland Empire area which is an area east of Los Angeles County. My city is majority Latino/Hispanic, but the part of town I live is multi-ethnic.

As far as how I am treated..

I don't experience overt racism. People pretty much mind their business or if they interact, are relatively polite. At the same token, I don't interact with people in my town much. I tend to stick to myself and tend to my business.

Is there racism and prejudice where I live? I am sure it is. But, do I care? Yes and no. I will always care about people mistreating me, if said person(s) take it there, but if they keep their prejudices and racism to themselves, then I don't care. I can't worry about people I don't know think about me.

I will say this..

It is not uncommon to see IR couples. But, relative to the overall demographics, they are relatively small, so if you happen to be out my way and see said couples, then don't let your soul wince too much. Their situation is theirs and has nothing to do with you. Mind your business and they will mind their business and everyone will be happy.

I am in Seattle so if I want to go even whiter I just need to drive 2 hours north to Vancouver BC.

My parents educated me at a very early age in regards to WS, White People and dealing with them. I grew up in Louisiana in the early 80's and left in 99 so I know very very well of how white people work and think.

So when I do experience racism/prejudice and those are 2 different things...I know how to analyze it, digest it and move forward in my confidence as a black man.

I also work for myself as a SBO (Small Business Owner) and I am financially very well set so when I have to deal with whites who see this then there is a greater deal of confusion, anger and wonder with them as they carry the racism and prejudice by default when encountering me and my own.

It doesn't make me negative or cynical but I am terse and respectful with white people and I always put in play what my mother said "Always have an exit planned when engaged in white conversation or white interaction". This maxim has really saved me from a lot of trouble and stress dealing with them.

At this time however I have 6 white people working for me. 2 women and 4 men. I have the 2 women in managerial roles and the ones below them don't give me any static as they are all eating off me with very very little complaint.

You are telling no lies at all. You get it because you really have to stay wide awake dealing with them.

My man!:salute: How is it dealing with White People once they realize you're better off financially than they are? How do they react?

Wow...it's strange to be honest. Because I am the one they never expect.

Literally. I have to plan 10 steps ahead and move accordingly.

The surprise of seeing me pull up and step out or having strong business acumen stuns them because they aren't expecting me.

You would be very interested to know how much they are afraid of us and at the same time underestimate us...:skip:

My name is extremely Caucasian sounding and I also talk in the same manner especially over the phone. If you and I spoke over the phone you would have no idea I am a 6'3 black male.

I have had to learn from the start to be hidden in plain sight especially in business settings or making myself seen when it comes to certain business opportunists.

I hire white faces to do my bidding and also to open up financial avenues then I reveal my face when it comes time to sign for that lease or purchase. I learned this from my mother and father who did the same when it came to making sure they didn't get ripped off for simply being black.

I get the usual reaction...

"What NFL team did you play for"?

"Are you in the music industry"?

or if they want to get into Caucasian humor "Are you a drug dealer lolz"?

Then the negative...

"Oh you must have gotten a loan due to Affirmative Action"
SERIOUSLY heard this one a few.

"Were you a big time ex con or something"?

It makes them quite inadequate and scared because they feel they should be where I am just off of GP of being white with comments such as....

"Well if I had majored in business I would be driving a nicer car than you lolz" or "What school did you graduate from to make money like that"?
Seriously I have heard this one but what they don't know is I have no college degree at all.

So to them I am something to be quite feared because it makes them wonder

HOW DID HE DO IT?

HOW DOES HE KEEP DOING IT?

WHY CAN'T I DO IT and I am WHITE?

WHY am I not WHERE HE IS BECAUSE IM WHITE?

It makes them very vulnerable because it shows them that their whiteness isn't as powerful as they think it is ESPECIALLY seeing an affluent single black man...I see it in their faces with the half frown look down smirk...or their GF/WIFE just can't stop looking at me in the very nice restaurant when I sit right near them ordering what I like.

So I remain very private....I don't share much about myself at all and never smile or joke with them. I don't have the luxury to do so...but it comes out in other ways because I love to spoil myself and enjoy fine things.

Dating is another animal because I can confidently say this below as it's been told to me many many times....

"Oh I don't date black men but I would really like to get to know you because you are established" :martin:

Think about that statement for a while.:beli:

and I don't have an exclusive market on this ire from them as you have it too.....most of you have it working with them in TECH,STEM,HEALTH,MEDICAL,REAL ESTATE...

Remember that.

Ask yourself...What is truly scary to the White Race?

Do you know how terrifying a black software developer is?

Do you know how terrifying a black engineer is?

Do you know how depressing it is to them to have a black boss or supervisor?

Or how about a black doctor taking care of their mother...or child?

Or even worse....a full black president? You saw the fear just over a bi-racial president...

Think of that fear that makes them consistently a feature on that Summer Jam screen.
