I haven't had any personal problems with white people in years...but that is because I have reached a level of whatever white people think is "successful" and the average white person, at least in public, doesn't see me as black anymore...
For example, whenever I talk about race with the white people I kick it with I always use the terms "white people, or white folks, or cacs"
The white people, they always use the terms "those blacks"
I say "why do you say those blacks? There is no such thing. There is just "black"
And they say "What are you talking about duckbutta:dahellwhat:. You're not like those blacks:dahellwhat: You have a job that pays you six figures:dahellwhat: You live in one of the most affluent neighborhoods in Denton county:dahellwhat:. The first floor of your house is bigger than my whole house:dahellwhat:. Your wife was just asking my wife about private schools and how much they cost:dahellwhat:. You don't even go into the office of the fortune 100 company you work at 10 times a year :dahellwhat:.
I find this almost as aggravating as when I did put up with real racism. It let's me know that even when white people are at their nicest, at their most even keel and honestly not trying to be racist, they still think so little of black people that if you gain a certain level of "success" they feel like it lifts you out of blackness and you no longer become like "those blacks", because it is no way "those blacks" could ever have a career, buy a large house, and have enough money to send their children to a private school.
I get the same thing from rich black people who have never been poor. I've heard several black people use "those blacks". I'm like...you mean "us" :dahellwhat:
