Were any of you born into millions, or had your family become millionaires before you reached the age of 10?
If the answer is yes, how did you stay motivated in life to try to achieve things?
To answer your second question motivation early on comes down to parents encouraging good habits. Additionally, there is usually some pressure in African households to do as well or better than one's parents. For me, I always did well academically but I wasn't really financially motivated till I got to college and I was surrounded by kids with parents that were wealthy. I went into a career that essentially guaranteed and upper middle class lifestyle or better even though it took 16 years of training.
The converse is my youngest brother, my parents were already making good money by the time he was in high school and he knew no matter what does in life his basic needs will always be taken care of. He spent 10 years after high school just kinda doing whatever and was not gainfully employed for 10 years. His motivation came from not wanting to be the broke sibling...he is now doing better than 99% of the population with just a high school degree.
