Nah I’d prob never move back to Cancer Alley unless [REDACTED] wanted to stay.
I’m from a specific town in that area but the whole area is populated with Big Oil developments.

The town im originally from has become destitute, got a dollar general but no walmart, piggly wiggly shut down its two stores, gotta drive across the bridge to the area with more white people to actually see & get shyt. It pissed me off cause small ass shytty Texas towns have way more going for them, but our area brings in money too.
St James used to be great, now its just a hollow shell.

Nope but I have relatives that live in towns like that in the Carolinas. My uncle before he passed away owned a whole farm in South Carolina and he would cook soul food from scratch and owned a tractor. The town was pred. Black too. When he passed, they put a big ass poster of him at the local dollar store.
my moms family is from carlisle and leeds south carolina... leeds is pretty incorporated now...
them peckerwoods been tryin 2 hit a lick on alot of the land out there because they dont think its ppl out there n most of the ppl there are up in age now 80s thinkin they gone die out ...n dont have a clue about the mineral rights for the kyanite or deeds to the land..

Haven't been in the area since the late 2000s. I don't think the entire city is bad, there's probably safe parts outside of the hood parts. Not my video but here's an drive though of Rocky Mount if you're curious as to what the town looks like (filmed Oct 2021)..

I grew up in the suburbs but spent time 'the hood' constantly (church, work, school, visiting relatives). Cacs don't make me feel any type of way.
FWIW, I don't trust anyone I don't see they ass personally at the family reunion/cookout, regardless of what color they are.

Every single one of my black American friends in nyc come from a small town in either NC/SC or are from the Gullah geechie ppl.
